Gerda was born on March 1, 1924 in Itzwoerden, Geversdorf, Germany and immigrated to Canada with her husband and children in 1953. Over the years she enjoyed several return trips to her homeland to visit with her family and friends. Gerda worked for Raber Glove for over 30 years and then enjoyed her well-earned retirement days. She loved to walk and for many years could be seen every morning walking around the Assiniboine Park with Willie. They also shared a great love of travel and saw most of North America with Fehrway Bus Tours. Gerda loved to write and receive letters from family and friends around the world. Her favorite day was her birthday, when she would receive cards, letters and phone calls from all her family and friends. Her ready smile and warmth touched many lives. We wish to thank the 911 Emergency Response team for their promptness and extreme kindness during this trying time.
